Please join the Orange Grove Elementary PTA and Seminole Elementary PTA in welcoming the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office with a community presentation on Social Media and Bullying. Deputy Thomas Kelley will be covering a wide range of topics dealing with Social Media, Apps and Bullying. Social Networking sites will be explained and why kids find them appealing. This class teaches parents what information is appropriate for online profiles and signs of danger in message boards. Apps will be covered and parents will see some of the good and bad in current Apps being used by many kids today. Bullying will also be discussed and tips provided on how to stop and report it. Other topics include Cyberbullying and Cyberstalking. An overview on safety tips will be given as well as good advice on how to manage time online. Parents will also receive handouts with tips to use at home. This will be an evening full of imperative information on keeping our kids safe in our technologically advanced society.
Our first time participating in the Seminole Rec Community Garage sale was a success. We raised $359.97 that will help the PTA with the programs for the students and teachers requests. This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for all the donated items from our families at Orange Grove and the volunteers that came out to help. Save your unwanted stuff for next year!
